Lienhard IV is internationally known for his work in heat transfer and thermal science, which spans some 50 years of research and teaching. He is a professor at the University of Houston and the creator of the program Engines of Our Intenguity which airs on public radio nationally. He is a member of the US National Academy of Engineering and has received dozens of awards for his research and teaching. John H. Lienhard V is a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology working in the fields of heat transfer and fluid mechanics. During more than twenty years at MIT, he has received several awards for his teaching, as well as awards for his research. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
