Reader Reviews It's really sad that this truly helpful reference book for soils engineers is out-of-print. It's one of the few books that I always want nearby. The book is organized for different tasks (such as piling, shallow foundations, settlement, field testing, slope stability, settlement, etc. For each subject, there are a number of Data Sheets (detailed recipes with brief explanations) to allow you to analyze probably over 80% or more of typical soils engineering problems you will encounter in your career. Just read the recipe and follow it. The book isn't too detailed, and, of course, doesn't cover complicated situations - but for general analysis to get you in the ballpark, it can't be beat. Even it being written with metric units doesn't detract from it's value! :-) Comment | | (Report this)
