Reader Reviews This review is from: Geoscience Laboratory Manual, Update (Ring-bound) Geoscience Laboratory has been revised for 2004. Many college students these days enter college with no earth science background, then find they are required to take a science lab course. Geoscience Laboratory addresses this deficiency by using many 'real world' examples and geology in the news as example of geological principles. Geoscience Laboratory encourages students to answer questions based on the materials they have studied, not merely to look up answers in the book. Exercises in this book have been extensively tested in a real university setting before publication. The book attempts to serve two audiences--students for whom a basic geology course is their only college level lab science, as well as potential majors taking their first college class, and, from a teaching assistant's point of view, does a good job as the basis for the lab classwork.
