PROJECT OVERVIEW:
Although western Venezuela currently suffers from a severe natural gas shortage, the local PETROLEOS DE VENEZUELA SA (PDVSA) expects to have completed an east-west pipeline connection by next year and also hopes to be tapping offshore reserves in the Rafael. As a result, PDVSA intends to build a new cryogenics plant in the west of the county. Construction plans under consideration call for building a cryogenics complex that will include: - A fractionation train with an installed production capacity of 35,000 barrels per day of natural gas liquids (NGL); - 2 gas trains that will convert 950,000 million cubic feet per day (Mcf/d) of rich gas into ethane for use at the El Tablazo
