This is the premiere forum for refereed articles on design tools for ICs and systems. It's the archival journal for the most advanced research in the many different areas that have to do with microelectronics: simulation, verification, design, characterization, emerging technologies, and more. Expect the very highest level of academic rigor in these articles. They're written for leading specialists, by specialists. There's generally nothing in these articles about commercial CAD tools, certainly nothing that the typical tool user would want to know. Even experts pick and chose what to read in detail. These articles generally address narrow topics in depth; most issues contain no more than one or two articles that meet any one person's research needs. As a result, and because of the cost even for IEEE members (hint: IEEE membership plus member cost is far less than the non-member price), most people count on their research libraries to subscribe rather than getting personal copies. There may not be a lot of them, but the articles that intersect my interests are irreplaceable. No other source provides the depth of analysis or the concentration of leading edge theory and practice in LSI CAD tools.
