After seaching an introductory electronics course out of various textbooks for several years, this is the one that I have currently settled on, and it serves my needs very well. The program in which I teach has bright students and a very full curriculum, where class time must be used to it's fullest. The compact organization of this book has allowed me to introduce the essentials of both DC and AC electronics, up to and including the frequency effects of capacitive and inductive circuits, in just one semester. I particularly like the treatment of DC circuits, with a brief introduction followed by it's treatment as a special case of AC in later chapters - very efficient. I am not concerned with light treatment of mesh or node analysis, as another reviewer has complained, since I omit this coverage in my course anyway, in the interest of time. I am not very concerned with this omission, since in practice circuits of a complexity where such analysis is required are always designed using computer simulations, which both I and this textbook teach.
