Composite Materials for Aircraft Structures (Aiaa Education Series)
Book Description An introduction to virtually all aspects of the technology of composite materials as used in aeronautical design and structure. This text discusses important differences in the technology of composites from that of metals: intrinsic substantive differences and their implications for manufacturing processes, structural design procedures, and in-service performance of the materials, particularly regarding the cause and nature of damage that may be sustained. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title. Reader Reviews This is a great reference on composite materials. It details almost everything that a person designing composites would need. It can be a bit bland to read, but it is full of valuable information. The only thing that it may lack is example calculations for the design of composite structures, but the theory is all there.
